Butterfly Count – Sat 7th August – 1.30 – 3.30 pm

Join us at the Mill to count the Butterfly’s in our Wildlife Area with Trevor Goodfellow from Butterfly Conservation – who will help us to identify different species.

This is a free event and Teas, cakes and soft drinks are available in the Courtyard Cafe.

 

 

ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION COURSE

A 4 DAY COURSE PROVISIONALLY FROM 16TH TO 19TH AUGUST

VENUE PAKENHAM WATER MILL

Co-ordinator Michael Goater a past chairman of BAFRA.

Cost £180 . A deposit of £50 will be required payable by 24th July .

Further information about payment will be made later.

Day 1 Structural repairs – replacing missing pieces- re-gluing and

clamping loose joints.

Day 2 Cleaning, reviving or applying spirit and oil based varnishes and

staining to match existing finishes.

Day 3 Basic upholstery. Techniques, tools, material and fabrics for

drop-in seats or fixed fabrics.

Day 4 Completion day , when your project started during these

sessions can be satisfactorily finished .

The morning will be teaching sessions followed by own project after.

It is more meaningful if you are able to bring furniture of your own

to work on. If you wish to discuss the furniture you are bringing ring Michael on 01580212234 after 1st July.
